Hallo everyone,
I would like to model a contact between two shell elements. What is the best way to do this?
For example, if we build a spring element between the nodes. How can we ensure that all of the reaction forces and moments will be transmitted correctly?
Is there a different way to model the contact other than the use of spring elements?
Thank you for your support!
Best regards
Wadhah

Point constraint - its a structural element with infinite stiffness. Transfers forces 1:1
Hello @garhuom
I think the following two topics might help you:
Hi All,
My name is Flavio and I’m a beginner user of Sofistik. As shuch, I’m still learning the general philosofy and how the software works.
I created a simple model of an aluminium structure. The structure is a folded sheet supported on one edge on an aluminium angle.
My aim is to model a compression only constraint (could be either area constraint or line constraint) between the angle and the folded sheet.
In the image below there is the model I created so far. Everything is working fine,…
Hi,
I am trying to couple quads that have been created in SOFiPLUS. I have managed to do it in the past but cant get it to work anymore. The workflow is as follows:
Create calculation model from SOFiPLUS
Use SOFIMSHA to couple the quads with the following code:
+prog sofimsha urs:31.1
head Quad coupling

However I am receiving the following error:

Could someone please help me debug the problem. I have also attached example…
