Surface with variable thicknesses

According to SofimshC

I have a cylinder with 2 surfaces. The height is 10m. The thickness of top 3m is 6mm, the middle 3m is 8mm, the bottom 4m is 10mm.

How to use “SPT T” to define variable thicknesses?

You must divide the surface in several parts/SARs. And each SAR gets two SPTs with one thickness and the other two SPTs with the other thickness. The thickness of the SAR should be defined with “0”, otherwise the thhickness of SPTs could be ignored.

By reading this, I would think Sofistik allow multiple SPT T to define variavle thickeness on a single surface. But your word indicate that it’s impossible?

You are right - at this point the manual obviously suggests something different. Experience shows, however, that this only works under certain boundary conditions, which unfortunately are not described in more detail. I will forward a note to the development team that the manual should be updated.

Therefore, please reduce the SPTs with thickness information to a maximum of 4 for quadrilateral surfaces.
