Elastic hinges on BEAM

Hi there,

I’m using rhino interface/sofimshC and I want to model elastic hinges at the end of my beams.

Usually I would do this by doubling the end nodes and using a spring in between with the proper elastic stiffness, but here for other reasons I want to avoid this way of modelling.

Is there an easier way of modelling elastic hinges without passing through en external spring…?

Hi,
I think elastic hinges are what you need. Attached you find a little example. When you study input and results in Graphic you should understand.
