Hi, I am modeling a pile cap with two sub-plates. Both are in 3D solid bricks and the same material, but they are modeled separately due to their individual purpose. The top slab is meshed in a systematic loop such that I know where each node number is located and such that each brick layer is its own group. This is done to enable bc and internal elements in these node points, and to easier assess the internal stresses in System. The bottom slab has 8 holes through it to allow for a realistic pile insertion and is therefore modeled with sars and automated meshing.
What is the recommended approach to attach these two slabs? Since the node numbers are randomized on the bottom slab it seams work intensive to design coupling by coupling, node to node, also if I want to alter the mesh size later. I have seen the commando BBOX but dont know how to use it effectively here to combine the two.
