Hello,

I am trying to vérify the maximum concrete compression stress in a slab with the item CHKC.
The Bemess manual (Sofistik 2018) says that “In the layer design (default on NSTR) reinforcement will be increased if necessary”. But in my case the reinforcement is not increased. I have only a warning that says that
“+++++ warning no. 283 in program fatigue The concrete stresses are outside the limits at some points!”
Does anyone know why the reinforcement is not increased in order to respect the compression stress limit?

Hello,

in your case the maximum concrete compression stresses are to large. Thats why the program is not increasing the reinforcement.

So, if I understand well, the program can not increase the reinforcement in the compression zone (compression reinforcement) in order to diminish the compression stresses in the concrete ?

Hello,

The program can increase the reinforcement but not unlimited.
You should have a look at the affected elements.
Perhaps you have to increase the strength class of the concrete.
