AQUA — Correct way to model a composite concrete + steel deck (irregular slab geometry)

SOFiSTiK 2026-6.0.879, AQUA module.

I’m modeling a composite bridge deck cross-section: an irregular (non-rectangular) concrete slab defined via POLY, combined with a steel plate that I originally wanted to model as thin-walled (PLAT).

I understand from the manual that PLAT (thin-walled family) cannot be combined with POLY (solid family) in the same SECT — confirmed by testing, this fails regardless of how well the element coordinates line up.

My question: **what is the standard/recommended AQUA approach for a composite section where the concrete slab has irregular, non-constant-thickness geometry (best represented as POLY) and the steel part would ideally be thin-walled (PLAT)? or Both should created under POLY?
