In earlier versions such as v23 , the use of ctrl vm was used as a factor (xsi) of the additional force V*cot(Theta) due to shear according to EC2. In contrast, in recent versions (e.g. that of 2023). The ctrl vm command specifies the value of cot(theta), but gives the option: x[%] = factor for values of shift rule , which I cannot compile to make it work , so I don’t know if it gives the xsi factor.
