Hi,
I’m modelling a pile slab in SOFiSTiK and would like to assign different soil spring stiffnesses (bedding moduli) along the pile depth.
My goal is to define at least three soil layers with different vertical spring stiffnesses:
- From the pile head to a depth of 1.5 × pile diameter (1.5D): no vertical bedding (free).
- Below 1.5D: a softer soil layer with lower spring stiffness.
- Below about 5 m: a stiffer soil layer with higher spring stiffness.
What is the recommended way to model this in SOFiSTiK? Is it possible to assign different bedding properties along a Structural Line, or should I divide the pile into several segments with different spring properties?
I’m put pile coordinates + length + rotation + angle as .csv file into grasshopper and from there the structure is transferred into teddy.
