I am currently working on a bridge project and need to calculate the influence of traffic loads. The issue I am facing is that I cannot use the ELLA module because the bridge is T-shaped and does not have a single main axis.
I am analyzing different traffic load alignments for tandem systems (TS) and uniformly distributed loads (UDL) (left, middle, and right). I was wondering if there is a way to create TS and UDL envelopes for all these alignments and assign specific action groups to those envelopes (e.g. GR_T and GR_U), so that they can later be used for creating new design combinations via CSM Bridge Design - Superpositioning.
your approach with different traffic load alignments is the best choice. The results of TS and UDL will be saved in actions GR_T and GR_U with a base offset for the resulting loadcases. Usually actions GR_T and GR_U have a configuration, that only one loadcase out of all saved loadcases will be used in further combinations.
In your case you can perform the ELLA module for every single traffic alignment. The only thing you must take care of ist, that you use different base loadcase numbers.
