Hello
I’m currently working on a structural analysis project using SOFiSTiK within Rhino, and I’m running into an issue when importing geometry from Rhino to SOFiSTiK. While most of the geometry transfers without any issues, certain complex shapes and surface definitions seem to fail during the import process, causing errors or missing elements in the model.
I’ve tried using different file formats (DWG, DXF, IFC) for the export, but the issue persists with certain geometries not being properly recognized by SOFiSTiK.
I’ve reviewed the documentation on geometry import and tried adjusting the Rhino model’s settings, like cleaning up duplicate vertices and ensuring surfaces are well-defined, but it doesn’t seem to make a difference.
Additionally, I’ve verified that the geometry is correctly simplified before the export. Despite these efforts, I’m still encountering missing elements or misinterpreted geometries after importing into SOFiSTiK.
Has anyone else faced similar issues with geometry import from Rhino into SOFiSTiK? Checked SOFiSTiK Interface for Rhinoceros - SOFiSTiK Rhinoceros Interface 2024 Minitab documentation guide .
Any advice on specific steps or best practices to ensure proper geometry transfer, especially for complex shapes or surface types, would be greatly appreciated. If there’s any additional information or settings I should check, I’m happy to provide more details or screenshots.
Thank you !
