Slipping interface

Hi,

I am modelling a slab and I would like to define a slipping interface between a beam and the shell, in order to not transfer axial force from the slab to the beam, but only the self weight. The beam axis lays on the shell plane and connected then by all the points (see pictures below).

Do you know if there is an option in Teddy to “release” the axial force?

Thanks

Hi Federico,

I would try the following:

  1. Deactivate the connection between those elements through the command XFLG of SLN.
  2. Create a constraint inside the sar element (sarb Cons) with an additional sln.
  3. Finally, linking both sln’s with the command slns where you can define the type of link.
I never did something like this, but this is the way I would proceed.

Good luck!
