I was wondering if it is possible to export a cross section (as shown in the screenshot below) from result viewer to dxf.

You can export DXF from Report Browser for sure.
So there workflow will be exporting result viewer page to plb and then to dxf.
To export from report browser you have to switch to graphic tab and then File>Export Graphic
