Relative stiffness in non-linear analyses

Hi,

I have performed a non-linear analysis of the columns at a bridge and are processing my results. In Graphics I have noticed that my relative stiffness EIy is 100% in all columns. What is this relative stiffness based on? The analysis is both material and geometric non-linear.

Thanks in advance

Kind regard
Glenn

Hello Glen

The effective stiffness EIy is the ratio of the secant stiffness Ey,eff to the elastic stiffness E0. If the curvature of the stress strain law is zero, then the secant stiffness for bending is E0 and the ratio EIy is 1.
