Reinforcement due to centric restraint of hydration tension in concrete

Dear Sir od Madam,

is there any verification manual regarding the calculation of reinforcement due to centric restraint of hydration tension in concrete?

When using instructions in bemess (alternatively: MREI FFCT 0.5 KC 1.0 - for centric restraint of hydration tension) it is hard to make hand verification calculation, because we do not know what stress limit reinforcement was used and what area of concrete in tension (A_ct) was used. Using full output in report does not help.

Hello Tomaz,

you should see the values (kc; k; fcteff; d; d*; sifma, zul) in Report at the bottom of table “Detailed Results of Bending- and Shear Design”.

Thank you.

As per my calculation Sofistik uses h_cr=0.80*h in equation 7.7N in SIST EN 1992-1-1:2005 when calculating d*,mod. I did reverse calculation. Why does it not use the whole height of section? Or is it possible to see how does it calculate d*,mod?
