Quicker Sofistik analysis performance

Hello,

I currently work on a project that is reletively large by the number of elements and it takes about 2 hours to export the system from Sofiplus-X to SSD and then 7-8 hours to analyse the model, although my computer parameters are really high. I wonder if i could change some of my settings, or maybe there is an option to let the program do the analyses with full PC parameters or something like that. Would love to have an advice.

You can try to activate multiple cores during the calculation with ASE.
For information about parallel computing please have a look at the ASE manual.

Or you try to reduce the number of elements. Therefore you have multiple options:

  • Increase the element size and refine it at specific points (e.g. around a column)
  • Activate regular mesh
  • If not required, do not work on the complete system
  • Try to simplify the system
  • Try to use the advantages of symmetry
