Material Nonlinear Analysis for VMIS material

Hi all,

I’m trying to run an analysis with nonlinear material defined as per the CADINP below.

head
CTRL REST 2
MATE 2 TITL “von Mises”
NMAT 2 TYPE VMIS P1 275000
ECHO FULL no
ECHO MAT FULL
end

When I try to run my SYST PROB NONL NMAT in ASE, the analysis is linear because only CONC and STEE nonlinear material are utilised for QUAD.

How can I run a material nonlinear analysis with the VMIS material?

Hello,

The VMIS material model cannot be used in ASE for nonlinear quad calculation.

As already mentioned, please use STEE or CONC material definitions instead of MATE. The nonlinear MATE material is fro example intended for use with PROG TALPA.

For reference, you may have a look at the TEDDY examples located in the “nonlinear-quad” folder in our examples. These examples demonstrate different approaches for defining nonlinear material behaviour in ASE and may help you set up your model accordingly.
