Hi,
Rhino 8, Sofistik 2026-5,
There is a errror in the Free Area Load component when entering data in the Load Type field:
-
The component is highlighted in red, even when the default value “PG” is entered.
-
The area load is displayed incorrectly in Rhino.
Despite the error indication, the component generates the correct Teddy text. SOFiSTiK processes the input file without any errors, and WinGraf displays the results correctly.
Hi Piotr,
Could you please check what kind of Category Type is selected on the context menu of this component? PZ and PG is a force direction, so if Category is set to Moment instead, the component won’t recognize it.
Free Loads with local directions aren’t shown graphically in Rhino, since the local coordinate system depends on the element the load is applied to, not on the load itself. This is intentional.

Hi Dariusz
I didn’t connect anything to the “Load Category” input, but even after connecting the “Force” value, the error message still appears.
Interesting, this doesn’t occur on my side. Could you share your script here, just the load component with internalized brep?
Dariusz
That’s interesting. I created a new file, and the error didn’t occur. Then I went back to my original file, deleted the Free Area Load component, and added a new one. The error didn’t appear this time, and everything is working correctly now.
Thanks for your help, Dariusz!
