Forces in springs in local coordinate system

Is there a way to display forces in spring elements modeled using point links in the local coordinate system? As far as I can see, for springs it’s only possible to obtain forces in the global coordinate system. This is quite impractical in cases such as a long bridge on a horizontal curve supported by bearings, where at each bearing the forces from the global coordinate system have to be transformed into the local one, which takes a considerable amount of time.

Thanks!

Hi Nemanja,

without an input file or at least a hint whether you’re working graphically or text-based, it’s difficult to answer the question.

But perhaps this will help:

In SOFiPLUS and SOFiMSHC, the direction of a spring is taken from the direction of the structural point. For connecting springs, this is the structural point at the beginning of the spring.
