Error in section interpolation for tapered box girder bridge after introducing reinforcement

As shown in above image sofiplus is giving error to run the model to create interpolation tapered section after introducing reinforcement. Before reinforcement the same model ran succesfully and created interpolation section for tapered section when only tendons are modeled and no reinforcement defined and checked for SLS. How tackle this error. shifting reinforcement bit helping but how to check which RF reinforcement is where.

Hello,

here an interpolation is defined between two cross sections. It is necessary that all elements in the cross sections are defined identically and have the same designations. It means that the designations of the single reinforcements have to be identically in both cross sections. You can check it graphically with the Results Viewer.

In my opinion it is better to define line reinforcements (program AQUA record LRF or in SOFiPLUS Cross Section Editor).

For brigde design (CABD) SOFiSTiK recommends the interpolation with a master cross section and defined variables TVAR along an axis. More information is available e.g. in Youtube ‘Bridge Design Training’ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Oqp-2p0cZA

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. The reason of the error is reinforcement having difference in location in mm in both sections. I was defining line in SOFiPLUS Cross Section Editor only. The solution is we just have to define the reinforcement in one section and have to clone it so the reinforcement should not be displaced even in micro mm, then we can change boundary line of section as per requirement (of the second section, the cloned one) and run. It will solve the problem of tapering and will do the interpolation without error.
