Hello everybody,

is there any possibility to request the maximum load bearing reaction (e.g. due to traffic loads) as a Coupling/Kopplung KPPZ? It is clear that this is a possibility in case of Springs/Federn with AUSW and then P, however I would like to have the same with couplings/Kopplungen.

ELLA determines:

  • load effects for structural elements (beams/quads/springs)
  • deformations for nodes

If you need forces between structural elements (e.g. bearings), I suggest you model the connection with very stiff springs (e.g. 1e9 kN/m stiffness)

Hello Lucas,

If you’re only using fix couplings in your model, I would suggest replacing them with beam elements and specifying a dummy cross-section via the SVAL command in module AQUA. For example:

The properties of cross-section 99 should be approximately one order of magnitude greater than the stiffest cross-section in the system.
