in the NF BAEL design code there are given several actions combinations where different factors are assigned to the actions.
The action combinations can be done in the program MAXIMA with explicit defined combinations, e.g.

The input definition is also possible in the SSD task ‘Combination Rules’. Here preset action combinations are available. A new combination can be defined via button ‘Combination Rule’ → Insert explicit combination rule.
In this case the actions get an unfavourable and a favourable factor. With the literals, e.g. PSIU = gamma-u*psi0, the values which are saved in the cdbase for the action are used.
The actions have to be defined with the program SOFiLOAD or the task ‘Action Manager’.
The initial load cases are assigned in MAXIMA automatically to the corresponding action. The program MAXIMA determines during the superposition if the initial load cases act unfavourable or favourable and allocates the right factor for each load case.
For the superpositions the initial values have to calculated (program ASE) because MAXIMA superimposed internal forces and moments, support forces, displacements …
