Hello everyone,
I have a foundation system with piles and soil-structure interaction. I have a load case where I apply a force at the center of the footing and impose displacements at the springs.
When I run the ASE calculations, I notice that the results are caused by the imposed displacements.
Could this cause any issues if we introduce both imposed displacements and nodal loads?

I tried with a simpler example, and it doesn’t work either. There is an issue when mixing imposed displacements and force loads. Has anyone encountered this problem or has any idea about it? My concern is that I need to combine them to perform a nonlinear analysis.
Try to define high stfiness spring like 1e12 at node you want to move and load it with force equal to your displacement in meters x1e12. It will act like imposed displacement.
The issue lies in the fact that the system force = stiffness x displacement cannot be solved with the simultaneous introduction of forces and displacements. Since I can’t modify the stiffness of the springs, the solution is to convert the external forces into displacements and add them to the existing displacements at the nodes. With this approach, it works perfectly.
