Can someone explain how activated mass in modal analysis is calculated and what is refers to.

Hi Alaa,

masses are normally calculated automatically from self weight and they are acting in the nodes. Therefore it’s necessary to mesh not too coarsely.

I need to know if the below equation corresponds to Activated mass %:
Activated Mass = ∑ (m*u^2) / ∑Uz
