The sign convention of the SOFiSTiK seems to be not matching with the right hand rule.
for example :
Loading on the Pier - Lateral load applied in the direction of Local y in both the cases below.
In case 1 expect the moment Mz shall be +ve, sofistik is also giving correct in result.
In case 2 Mz should be -ve, However sofistik is giving +ve,
Case1: Pier element coordinate system :
Local x- bottom of the pier to top (along its length)
Local y- Along the bridge axis (left to right)
Local z - Perpendicular to bridge axis ( into the plane)
Case 2: inverse of Case 1, except Local Y direction
Do any one know the reason for it?
